HOW TO CREATE SUCCESS THROUGH OWNING YOUR TIME

ACHIEVING GOALS THROUGH FOCUS
It is a fact of life that to do anything worth the title of an impressive, worthwhile achievement, one needs to take initiative and follow through with consistent action... put in hours and days at a time of work and mental energy into manifesting that desired set of goals.
For such action to be realizable, there will be hours of the day, near full days out of one's week, that will need to be dedicated, in a laser-sharp focused manner, purely towards taking the necessary steps towards achieving that goal. This simply cannot be done if focus is invested elsewhere - on someone or something else.
PROTECTING YOUR TIME
Protecting one's own agenda - the idea might sound selfish to some, but ironically turns out to be one of the most selfless things one can do when analyzed from a higher perspective.
When focus escapes someone, that person is said to have fallen into another's agenda. To begin protecting one's own agenda, time management is not enough ... rather I suggest opening your mind to the idea of time ownership. Ditch the label of becoming the 'manager of your time', a phrase that subconsciously programs the belief that your time is owned by someone else, and only to be managed by you, who in reality is the true owner. Regain the title of owner of your own time, to have real control over the direction of your desired future.
SOCIAL STRATEGIES
There will be times when one simply have to say no to what someone else wants. In a modern-day, competitive society, one has to ask oneself, "Can I, as the owner of my time and thus of my future, afford to invest time into this situation?"
Planning for your own goals is vital - it leads to the very act of accomplishing those goals. It is important to be decisive and firm in social scenarios, without giving up too much kindness or flexibility, when personal successes are on the line. This requires a person with firmly grounded morals.
To be such a person, one must always be ready for the relatively 'right' decision. This requires one to be completely honest, and to be able to recognize, analyze, and accept the depth of a situation, to form a coherent viewpoint.
This adopted viewpoint is meant to always bring you back to your goals - a sort of mental homing device so that you never travel too far off track.
Now, I claim that protecting time from others to achieve personal goals is highly selfless. You will read, as I talk about in a future article, Personal Success as Collective Success, how by using the right philosophy in one's goal-setting, achieving seemingly personal goals will translate into a collective success. In this way, each personal goal is universal, and there is always work being done to advance the world on a collective and individual level.
Now, put yourself out there and do something productive towards your goals!
Until next time,
Gerard
